Awesome Team of Changemakers
We push our clients to make changes that make the workplace a healthier, more inclusive place to be. Sometimes – okay a lot of that time, that requires real courage and a willingness to lead the way. That’s why Bask + Being is committed to walking the talk right alongside them.
One of the most important ways we do this is by hiring and partnering with brilliant beings who are already inspiring us by living our boldest shared vision for the future.
What I do:
Everything, Everywhere, Always. If you haven’t seen that movie, I highly recommend it. We’re a small business so I currently do everything. I support research, coaching, strategy, implementation, and facilitation. When I’m not doing that, I’m doing my best to build and operate Bask + Being in a way that centers human dignity, love, reciprocity, and not burning people out.
Why I do it:
Because I’m tired of a version of capitalism that prioritizes profits over the well+being of people and the planet. And because over the past 15 years, I’ve led several major programs that have centered business performance around human health and safety. And it works.
My favorite value:
All of them. But Finish Strong + Leave It Better Than You Found It is my favorite, favorite. Because, those are sayings my dad said to me growing up.
A boundary I’m working on:
Not creating unnecessary urgency for me or my team. It’s a daily practice. And I stumble a lot. But practice makes progress.
What I do:
With a background in organizational behavior, I lead our research design and program evaluation efforts.
Why I do it:
I genuinely love asking “how are you doing?” and then listening with the intent to understand. I’ve oriented my career around developing a skill set to help people feel seen, heard, and understood so that we can create inclusive and supportive environments that enable them to thrive.
My favorite value:
My favorite Bask + Being value is courageous curiosity + deep listening. I find the most energizing conversations are the ones where I let go of the pressure to respond or perform and just allow myself to be curious, ask questions, and listen.
A boundary I’m working on:
I am working on being flexible as I balance professional ambitions, time for loved ones, and time for myself.

What I do:
I bring a unique perspective to the coaching discussion by virtue of my experience as a board-certified family physician. I have seen firsthand the impact that stress and burnout can have on one’s health, both physical and mental. I approach the coaching process from a holistic perspective, considering not only the individual’s goals but also their overall health and well-being.
Why I do it:
I am passionate about what I do because I am committed to health and wellness. I have seen first-hand how the traditional medical model fails when it comes to taking a whole person approach, that fosters changes, and personal accountability. My aim is to empower people to make choices that foster health and vitality.
My favorite value:
My favorite Bask + Being value is courageous curiosity + deep third ear listening. Being authentic to yourself is one of the most important things you can do in your life. It means being honest about who you are, what you believe in, and what you stand for. When you share your authentic self with the world, you open yourself up to new possibilities and experiences.
A boundary I’m working on:
I am working on further strengthening my work life balance, and finding more time for play. To be frank, I have likely worked more hours in the past 15 years than most people do in 40 years of work, and this is not an exaggeration. Those 24 hours, 7 days a week shifts, I used to do, are a thing of the past.

What I do:
As an extroverted-extrovert who feels energized when I’m around others, you can find me facilitating workshops and working hard to make sure our data and strategies tell the stories of the people they impact.
Why I do it:
Because companies are composed of real people — people who are navigating life’s joys and challenges as best they can. And in today’s society, one’s company has a large influence on one’s life. I’m committed to making sure that decisions are made with these people in mind.
My favorite value:
Courageous Curiosity + Deep Third Ear Listening. As a student-therapist, bringing my non-judgemental curiosity to listen intently to others is a key element of my work with clients.
A boundary I’m working on:
Boundaries with myself, to hold myself accountable to the commitments I make to my health and well-being.
What I do:
I am the queen of culture (KD made me say that, but it’s true). I plug in where the team and client needs me. Some of the places I’ve added my magic include: internal operations, fundraising, workshop facilitation, research, and project management. One of my favorite projects was getting The Reset Deck designed and funded. Be sure to check them out!
Why I do it:
My goal is to be part of changing the narrative about wellness and destigmatizing illnesses. My desire is to support businesses and individuals that aspire to thrive. My passion is compassion; get into it!
My favorite value:
I love ALL of B+B’s values because they’re a paradox of practical whimsy. As a mother of 2 children, ‘PLAY.EVERY.DAY’ is literally my life. And since I am Day, I love that this value reminds me to incorporate joy within or around every facet of my existence.
A boundary I’m working on:
I actually have two work boundaries I’m currently working on. Believe it or not, I’m working on Basking and Being. Seriously. I tend to have perseverating thoughts in the pursuit of perfection. I’m on a journey to “Relax, Relate, Release”.

What I do:
Crafting stories and assets with soul and heart. Great projects and campaigns require cross-departmental storytelling. I thrive on preparing projects and drafting well-executed deliverables for client, team, and individual consumption that highlight the skills of every member of the B+B team.
Why I do it:
I went from burnt out college student to burnt out employee in the blink of an eye. B+B helped me realize work is just one facet of our lives, and in order to enjoy every other aspect of life, we have to strike a healthy balance between the two, and that starts in the workplace. I love helping craft tools that will help organizations and their teams become the best versions of themselves.
My favorite value:
Rad Inclusion + Daringly Different. As a BIPOC woman, working in a radically inclusive space allows me to be my best and most authentic self. In order to cultivate an inclusive and different environment, you have to be willing to burn it all down and start over.
A boundary I’m working on:
Understanding it’s okay to say no. Sometimes I don’t have the time or energy to commit 100% of myself to something, and it’s okay to say so.
What I do:
I currently fill in wherever I am most needed ranging from strategy and coaching to facilitation in support of the organization’s mission. I come from a background that includes software product management and a deep passion for creating amazing human experiences digitally and in real life in varied ways — ranging in everything from my work as an Airbnb Host to my work as the co-host and creator of Latinx podcast and platform Tamarindo Podcast.
Why I do it?
I believe that to have the largest and healthiest impact on our communities and our world, WE have to be well first. I believe the best work comes from humans who are well and are doing things that feel internally aligned, and where they are valued as humans over workers. The centering of output over process, approach, and well-being harm humans, creativity, and ultimately businesses. Centering human well-being in organizational culture is the most direct way that we can start to undo this harm and transform unsustainable work culture into inspired, sustainable, and impactful work.
A work boundary I’m working on
I am working on creating better time blocks for different types of work to limit distractions, improve my focus, and limit ineffective multitasking.
My favorite value
I love courageous curiosity and deep third-ear listening. Curiosity elicits openness and openness creates spaciousness for growth. Curiosity celebrates exploration with less judgment or expectations. I love the word courageous in front of curiosity because exploring and unearthing also asks us to challenge our preconceived notions about a topic, and an openness to learn from and with others through deep third-ear listening.

Beyond my work with Bask and Being, I am the co-host and co-creator of Latinx podcast and platform Tamarindo Podcast. We release new episodes every Wednesday and host both virtual and IRL events centering culture, well-being and self-development. We also curate culturally relevant content on our social channels which you can follow below.
What I do:
Design, formulate, implement, and reflect on research that leads to a better understanding of what works and what doesn’t. As a mixed-methods researcher, I use quantitative data and qualitative insights to uplift narratives centering people’s experiences.
Why I do it:
We live in a world with growing inequality and complex networks of information, perspectives, and experiences. I want to make sense of it all to provide well-informed solutions and community-centered approaches to complicated social problems.
My favorite value:
Rad(ical) Inclusion + Daringly Different. We should push ourselves to do more in ensuring everyone is included and that everyone has the courage to celebrate their differences, even if it calls for a complete reform of our ideas and practices of inclusion. Sometimes we’ve got to start from scratch to get it right.
A boundary I’m working on:
Transparency about capacity for myself and for others.
What I do:
I help people unpack and reimagine their present and future for a sparkling new perspective and path forward. For Bask+Being, this means designing and facilitating group coaching, focus groups and workshops that help individuals address burnout and share their voice and ideas on how to amplify wellbeing for themself, peers and company.
Why I do it:
I left a great position at a Fortune 500 at age 30, with no real plan other than to take care of myself, because I was burned out. Thanks to powerful, purposeful, creative reflection and action, and support of a great career coach, I realized everything I loved about consulting is actually called coaching. I am so grateful I gained tools on my journey that I now get to share with others to help them take care of their wellbeing AND achieve their big dreams and goals.
My favorite value:
Courageous Curiosity + Deep Third Ear Listening – This speaks to my passion for human-centered design and what coaching is really all about. To slow down, ask power questions, leverage multi-sensory listening, and really dig into what is happening without expectation of where the answers and insights will lead us.
A boundary I’m working on:
Not checking in on technology when I’m out of “work hours,” and trying to help others do the same. I’m trying to be more cognizant of others’ preferred working hours so as not to send something to their inbox outside of those windows that might tempt them to look.

What I do:
I love to ask questions and I love to listen. To me asking questions and listening are the starting point of getting to know others and the discovery of new approaches to solutions. I love research as it gives me a window into what is happening in the lives of others, on an individual and organizational level.
Why I do it:
I believe we are more than what we do and where we work. We are whole beings with multiple sides to be nurtured, in order to bring our best selves to each day.
My favorite value:
Courageous Curiosity, because courageous curiosity leads from the heart. I believe the heart is what connects us all as humans and reminds us all why we are doing any of this in the first place.
A boundary I’m working on:
Being realistic with my time. Since I like to be the person who knows how to help others solve their problems, I often want to sign up for more than is realistic for me to maintain balance in my life.
What I do:
I am a Project Manager and Facilitator for Bask + Being. I ensure the team is able to meet deadlines and projects in a way that energizes us through every sprint of the marathon.
Why I do it:
Coming from the hospitality industry where the guest ALWAYS comes first. I lost my sense of self in both my professional and personal life by embracing the role of people-pleasure. My work at Bask and Being allows me to hold a mirror up to allow people to love themselves in ways that many have not before through boundaries, exploration, and facing limiting beliefs along the way.
My favorite value:
Rad inclusion allows us to embrace our inner rebel. Growing up, I believed all things that made me different were disadvantageous. Whether it was. the color of my skin or even my natural hair. We all bring experience with assumptions to the table. I strive to expand the table and dare each person to grab a seat at the table with empathy and intent. My differences have now become my superpower as a trailblazer in and outside of the workplace.
A boundary I’m working on:
Working less than 40 hours a week.

What I do:
I breathe life into our stories, trainings, and data. I design playful, educational, aesthetically appealing visuals for our workshops and marketing materials.
Why I do it:
When I was younger, I believed that working more than 8 hours a day is the best way to reach my career goal. It all changed when the pandemic hit us. Now I believe that the best way to reach your dreams is to have a well-balanced career and social life.
My favorite value:
Turn your work and life into play. As a creative person, this has always been my daily driver. When I work, I make sure that it is 90% fun. Whether it is a corporate, personal, or passion project, I always make sure that when my clients see my work, they will see the fun side of it.
A boundary I’m working on:
My boundary is all about creative limitations. When clients and teammates don’t understand the creative process, I take the time to educate them and co-create a collaborative process.
